Benedict Nathan Budiharto
Hi !
I'm Benedict Nathan Budiharto, a Screen Media student specializing in editing and videography. My creative journey includes competing in short film festivals, producing documentaries, creating video commercials and event recordings.
For me, editing and videography are more than just technical skills — they are ways to preserve art, memories, and togetherness before they slowly fade away. I also see film and visual storytelling as opportunities to deliver messages, emotions, and perspectives that people can connect with deeply. I believe people often forget moments, feelings, and experiences as time passes, which is why I want to capture them in a cinematic form that can last forever. Through every frame, transition, and visual detail, I aim to keep those memories alive so they can continue to be remembered and felt again in the future.

CONCEPT
Arts and Disability Forum (ADF) event (Volunteer represent NAFA as videographer and editor)
Timeline = March 2025
Around January 2025, I volunteered as a videographer and editor for the documentation of the ART DIS exhibition, which was held in March 2025. The exhibition aimed to show that people with disabilities have equal opportunities to express their creativity and showcase their talents.
Before the event took place, I attended training sessions organized by ART DIS to better understand people with disabilities. The training also helped me develop ideas and concepts for the documentary-style content that I would later record and edit.

The main themes I developed for this project were happiness, and performance, as I wanted the documentary concept to align with the overall message of the event. Through this video, I aimed to highlight how children with special needs are able to express their creativity and prove their abilities through performance.
To make the documentary more engaging and visually appealing, I used a split-screen editing concept that allowed multiple moments and perspectives to be shown simultaneously. This approach made the video more dynamic, easier to follow, and enjoyable for a wider audience while still emphasizing the emotional and inspiring atmosphere of the exhibition.
SENTRE - Digital Marketing
Timeline = November 2025 - Present
SENTRE is an Indonesian student organization in Singapore that helps talented Indonesian students pursue their studies at top universities in Singapore. My role in this organization was in digital marketing, where I created social media content and advertisement videos for SENTRE. I was responsible for videography, photography, and video editing for each content project.
Every month, our team brainstormed content ideas that were relatable and engaging for secondary school students, as our main target audience was late Generation Z and Generation Alpha.
Chill, Education, Relate
This three things are our main concept for content media. The videos were presented in a formal and informative style while still feeling entertaining and approachable through humor, trends, and casual storytelling. Editing also played an important role in creating strong hooks and emphasizing key messages, making the content more engaging for younger audiences. At the same time, the topics and presentation stayed close to everyday student life, so our target audiences could feel more connected and interested in SENTRE.
Edited and produced video content twice within two weeks, with each video achieving around 2,000–9,000 views. Contributed to improving audience reach, engagement, and content visibility by creating videos that were visually engaging, well-paced, and aligned with the intended target audience.
NAFA Stage works - Marketing
Timeline = September 2025 - Present
NAFA Stageworks is a theatre CCA for NAFA students that brings together people from different disciplines to create theatre productions on a project-by-project basis. My role in this CCA was mainly in marketing and video production. I created advertisement videos to promote NAFA Stageworks events and also produced documentary videos during showcases.
For every project, I was responsible for developing creative ideas on how to promote the production and make audiences feel excited about upcoming NAFA Stageworks projects. I handled the scripting, directing, cinematography, and editing for both the advertisement and documentary videos.
HALLOWEEN PROJECT
MOODBOARD
At the end of October 2025, NAFA Student Services organized a Halloween event where NAFA Stageworks participated by creating a haunted attraction. In this project, my partner Owen and I were responsible for producing the advertisement video for the event.
We brainstormed ideas by researching references on YouTube and were inspired by Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 6, especially the “One Got Out!” scene, which combined comedy, satire, absurdity, and horror. Inspired by this style, we created a horror-absurd comedy advertisement. The use of gimbal and handheld shots helped strengthen the horror-comedy vibe.

Concept
The use of gimbal and handheld shots helped strengthen the horror-comedy vibe. Gimbal shots made the scenes feel cinematic and dramatic, while handheld shots, cut to cut styles and insert cut style created a chaotic and awkward feeling that matched the absurd humor. This combination made the jump scares feel less intense but more quirky and entertaining for the audience.
Produced videos that consistently reached around 2,000–5,000 views, contributing to stronger audience engagement and content visibility.
Besides creating the trailer, we also documented the entire Halloween event process, starting from the makeup preparation, games, until the aftermath of the event. After filming, we edited the footage into a 90-second recap video. The colour grading and overall theme were dominated by dark gothic horror tones to match the Halloween atmosphere.
Student Assistant NAFA CONVOCATION 2025 (Freelancer as Videographer and editor)
Timeline = August 2025
For the NAFA Convocation 2025 project, our team worked as freelance videographers and editors to create a graduation recap video. Before filming, we discussed several concepts inspired by TikTok trends, including backstage moments before the ceremony, graduates walking off stage, interactions between lecturers and students, the “Glasses 2025” trend, and others.
However, on the actual day, we decided to simplify the concept into two main styles: a classic documentary vibe and a Gen-Z cinematic vibe. We chose these ideas because we wanted the video to feel memorable and emotional for the graduates, while also creating an epic and exciting atmosphere for the audience.
CONCEPT
Basically, my specific role in this project was focusing on the classic documentary vibe. I used a warm orange (Kodak film look/vintage) and natural color grading to create a nostalgic and emotional atmosphere. I also added film grain effects and classic instrumental soundtracks to make the video feel timeless and historical for the graduates.
The colour grading was inspired by old memory books and found footage videos, so the documentary would feel personal and meaningful even when watched again many years later. Through this approach, I wanted the audience to not only watch the graduation recap, but also emotionally reconnect with the memories and moments from the ceremony.

PUBSMA Santa Ursula, BSD > chief editor
Timeline = September 2022 - November 2023

As the Chief Editor, I am responsible for directing and overseeing the school’s video content production. My role is to edit the videos into content that is concise, entertaining, and engaging while ensuring that the message is delivered clearly and can be enjoyed by all students.
Software Editing = Wondershare Filmora 11
Aftermovie is a documentary-style video of school events, concerts, etc. My job is to combine all the videography footage into a 2-minute video, synchronize it with music, and make it feel more memorable.
On the other hand, I also work on educational short films. I create the scripts and combine comedy, drama, and educational elements so that students can understand the topics more easily.
Software Editing = Adobe Premiere Pro
CONCEPT
Commercial NTU Winter Camp ( Freelancer Editor)
Timeline = January 2025 - March 2025
I combined all the photos from the 6-day NTU camp into a 3–5 minute documentary video. Before starting the editing process, I selected the music first and synchronized the editing pace and transitions with the rhythm of the soundtrack. This approach made the video feel more alive and emotional, allowing the audience, especially those who attended the camp, to relive their beautiful memories and experiences throughout the event.
For the visual style, I used an Image Mosaic or Montage Sequence effect because I wanted the documentary to feel like a comic book or a memory-filled yearbook. By combining many photos into dynamic moving sequences, the video creates a nostalgic atmosphere that reflects friendship, shared experiences, and memorable moments from the camp.
This is a recap of the projects I have worked on from high school to the present, including short films, podcasts, documentaries, and events.
